Two-Day Local Music Festival to Feature More Than 300 Northern Colorado Performances Fort Collins, Colo. (March 1, 2012) – The Fort Collins Music eXperiment (FoCoMX) has announced the lineup for its 4th annual local music festival taking place April 13 and 14, and music lovers can buy wristbands now at www.FoCoMX.org. Featuring more than 300 Northern Colorado bands, artists and DJs at 30 venues throughout Fort Collins, the Friday – Saturday festival covers a wide array of music genres and is expected to draw an eclectic, all-ages crowd of more than 6,000 attendees. The FoCoMX 2012 lineup features a mix of up-and-coming artists as well as national touring acts, including: Chad Price of Drag the River and ALL, Candy Claws, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Endless Monster featuring members of Descendents, Fierce Bad Rabbit, Good Gravy, Johnny Hickman from Cracker, Peace Officer, 3 Twins featuring members of The Subdudes, and American Idol sensation Magic Cyclops! In addition to live music, FoCoMX 2012 will feature musician education panels, children’s workshops, a special live production by Dead Floyd, and the return of the popular “silent disco.” Festival goers are advised to show up early for their favorite bands, and low or no cost bus transportation between the downtown and campus west venue areas will be available to help fans pack in as much music as possible. FoCoMX is a volunteer-run festival and offers a variety of opportunities for individuals to get involved, including: door shifts at venues, promotions, event set-up and clean-up, assisting with stage production and management, helping with ticket sales and information, or even emceeing a stage. In addition to enjoying great music and connecting with the community, volunteers who contribute four hours of time or more will receive a free festival wristband. The signature event of the nonprofit Fort Collins Musicians Association (FoCoMA), FoCoMX has nearly doubled in size each year – garnering national attention and earning it the unofficial title of “The Biggest Little Festival in America.” “FoCoMX offers an opportunity for music lovers to celebrate and enjoy the amazing talent of our local artists,” says FoCoMA Co-Founder and President Greta Cornett. “FoCoMX delivers a fun festival experience to Northern Colorado with some of the same great bands featured at festivals like South by Southwest, but at a much more affordable price.” Pre-sale weekend wristbands for the 2012 festival are available online at www.FoCoMX.org for only $15 during the month of March. On April 1 the price will increase to $20, at which point wristbands will also be available for purchase at Rock ‘n’ Robins in Fort Collins.
