Denver, Colo. 8/3/13 – cityWILD is excited to announce one of Denver’s premier benefit events – The Rendezvous. The event will benefit cityWILD, a long standing non-profit organization in northeast Denver working with high-risk youth. Social activists, community leaders and music lovers will come together for an upscale evening of gourmet food, an open bar and incredible silent auction.

Since 1998, cityWILD has been providing year-round leadership education to Northeast Denver youth through its programs. cityWILD believes Leadership is a skill learned through experience, and taught by example. To support and nurture our students, the organization sets high expectations, promotes caring relationships, and creates opportunities for meaningful participation. cityWILD targets middle school and high school youth who are at-risk for a variety of reasons including the presence of risk factors in their schools, community, and families such as drugs, gangs, and high crime rates. cityWILD motivates participants to reach their potential at school, at home and in their communities – and they succeed. Over the past 14 years, cityWILD has provided intensive services to more than 1500 youth through 50,000 contact days. A multiptude of cityWILD students have gone on to college, including one Daniels Fund scholar each of the past two years.

This year’s event features one of Denver’s best bands, Bop Skizzum, runner-up in the Hard Rock Rising world music showcase of more than 12,000 bands. Gathering inspiration from every corner of the record store, the band meshes their alternative pop-rock vibe with groove-based funk, dance and hip-hop influences, creating an invigorating blend of unique instrumentation and phenomenal vocals to complete their sound.
