Crazy Denver rockers A Tom Collins have signed with Atomic Music Group (Reverend Horton Heat, In The Whale, Agent Orange, The Yawpers) to handle booking and representation.

Circumstances worked out well for the signing, which came out of the band being added on to a Reverend Horton Heat/Old Man Markley show down in Colorado Springs. “We did a radio interview down in Colorado Springs,” says front man Aaron Collins. “We were scrambling around trying to find a show in December and they were going to help us promote it. We ended up opening for Reverend Horton Heat. Our stuff got sent to their management to approve the opener. Their management called up and asked to represent us. They were really excited about the band.”

They will be heading to Europe in February, a tour that was put together prior to their signing with Atomic. The first tour as an Atomic Music Group artist should see the band heading into and out of South By Southwest in March.

A Tom Collins plans to record their second album in 2014 in between their time on the road. “I’m taking of January to see if I can write some more stuff,” says Collins. “We’ve got about half an album ready to go. We’re hoping that we will start recording in April.”

The good fortune is welled deserved for the band, following a year that saw them spend more than three months on tour and continue to perform at well-respected Denver area festivals and clubs. Collins and the band are very excited about 2014 and this new chapter with Atomic Music Group. “In music, obviously you have to be good to get ahead as a band,” says Collins. “You’ve got to be lucky, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. The other thing is you’ve got to go out there and work.”
