Denver, CO, June 6, 2012: The Denver based refugee resettlement agency, The African Community Center, announced a beneficiary concert to be held Friday, June 8th at The Oriental Theater starting at 7pm. The event will feature performances by three popular Denver bands, The Tito Malaga Band, The Big Motif, and The Autumn Film, as well as a large silent auction. Silent auction items include; tickets to a Colorado Rockies game, passes to the Colorado Symphony, a night stay at the Hyatt, hot air balloon rides, and Canvas and Cocktails. Additionally, Route 40 and Pink Tank food trucks will be parked in front of the venue throughout the evening.
African Community Center, Outreach Coordinator, Erin Martin said, “we are thrilled to offer a night to our community to share in our cause. Rock Out for Refugees is a great way to get people together in a fun atmosphere while collecting donations and very importantly,
expanding public awareness of our cause and organization. The concert will also serve as a fun kick-off to our weeklong, upcoming event, Restaurants for Refugees.”
Denver is home to over 46,000 refugees and ACC seeks to bridge the gap between hope for a better life and economic self-sufficiency through social, educational, and employment services. Please come join us for a memorable night and show you support for the refugees seeking to build safe and sustainable lives in Denver. All ages are welcome, and tickets are $15 and available for purchase through the Oriental Theater.
