Christopher Guillot- Remember What You Forgot
by Tim Wenger
Christopher Guillot is a perfectionist. Those who have worked with Cherry Sound Studio have already seen it from a production standpoint, but he displays talents in the musical form on his new record Remember What You Forgot.
The music is an ambient take on melodic pop, an easy listen that displays not only technical prowess but soothing vocals reminiscent of the alternative rock of the early nineties mixed with some lighter pop. Guillot incorporates horns, keys, and both rhythmic and dominant guitar in just the right spots on the record, accenting the emotion displayed in his lyrics. He touches on love, inspiration, and what may be some social anxiety on the album, an eccentric collection of songs that kept my interest throughout and displayed without a doubt the creativity that Guillot puts into his music. Definitely a record to keep in the player.
