Colorado’s Favorite Quartet, Devotchka, To Headline “Vail Rocks” Event

Vail, Colorado. July 18, 2014 – Love Hope Strength announced last night to the delighted fans of the bands sold out Red
Rocks Amphitheatre show that favorite rock quartet, Devotchka, will headline their 3rd annual Vail Rocks fundraising
event on August 16, 2014, in Vail. The highly anticipated event sponsored by the Town of Vail brings together hundreds of
supporters – new and old – cancer survivors and rock stars in support of the world’s leading rock ‘n’ roll cancer foundation,
Love Hope Strength and their GET ON THE LIST campaign.
The two-day event highlights a one-of-a-kind hike up Vail Mountain starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 16th. Hikers will
enjoy a 3-mile musically charged hike up the Berrypicker trail while hiking alongside and enjoying acoustic stops with
musicians Scotty Stoughton of Bonfire Dub, Onward Etc., The Fixx’s Cy Curnin and Devotchka. At the summit hikers take in
the world-class views at Mid-Vail while enjoying lunch and a live performance by LHS co-founder and two-time cancer
survivor Mike Peters of The Alarm. For the first time in the event’s history, participants are invited to bring their
instruments of choice and jam with the musicians.
The free post hike concert at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village begins on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. The concert will
feature students from Denver’s School of Rock with Mike Peters, Onward Etc. and biggest headliner ever, Devotchka.
While participants enjoy libations from Oskar Blues and Deep Eddy, they will have the opportunity to GET ON THE LIST at
one of our booths and become a life-saving donor or purchase merchandise in support of Love Hope Strength.
Participation numbers for the hike are limited so register now at vailrocks.org to participate in this special event and avoid
disappointment. The registration fee is $99 for the hike, or take the pledge to fundraise with us and lower your
registration fee. Participants that raise $1000 or more will be invited to the George Karl Foundation Reception on Friday
August 15th at 7 pm. The reception will include complimentary drinks, appetizers, music and bowling as a thank you to
our most loyal and engaged supporters. All hikers, fundraisers and the Town of Vail will be invited to Bol later that evening
for a party with DJ Aero at 9:00 p.m.
