Eyes Set to Kill
by Max Giffin
On August 30, Eyes Set to Kill, from Tempe, Arizona, headlined at the Marquis Theatre. The band might be best known as one of the few metal bands featuring both a female guitarist and bassist. Anissa and Alexia Rodriguez started the band in 2003, and since then, the project has grown to phenomenal heights.
People know Eyes Set to Kill as a band with girls who can shred, but Alexia wants to make it clear that they want to be known as a heavy metal band, and not as a cute band with female vocals. While Alexia does sing, the majority of an Eyes Set To Kill Song focuses on Cisko Miranda’s screams. The band is currently working on a new album that they’re beyond excited to release. Part of the excitement, is Alexia and Cisko hope that the new album will illustrate better how they want the band to be seen. In 2011, they put out their third full length, White Lotus on Century Media Records. The band feels as if White Lotus didn’t accomplish what they wanted, and even admitted they don’t like it at all. The next album they hope will be heavier and more serious than the previous.
Fans have a lot to anticipate for the future, with the new album in the works that the band is so enthused over.
