Faded Freakshow, Boobzilla, More Bringing Performance to Tennyson’s Tap Sept. 19

Landon Ricker and his crew Faded Freashow have joined “forces” with a forceful entertainer named The Amazing Boobzilla to create a one-of-a-kind entertainment spectacle called the Oh No Variety Show that will take place September 19 in Denver. “The Oh No! Variety Show (also) features David the Goliath, the feral strongman whose abilities are not for the faint of heart,” Ricker says in a statement sent to Colorado Music Buzz. “He’ll break the sound barrier with the crack of his whip, escape unscathed from wild animal traps, and recite poetry while avoiding eviscerationfrom his bed of machetes which he fondly refers to as his ‘Steely Posturepedic.’” CMB caught up with Ricker to get the lowdown on how all this weirdness came to be, and what attendees can expect when they arrive at Tennyson’s Tap, 4335 W. 38th Ave.
CMB: Tell me about how Faded Freakshow came to be, and your roll within it.
LR: Faded Freakshow became a living vision of mine in January of 2011. I have been interested in sideshow since I was a kid, I gathered material & studied about the culture. In 2009 I started breaking bottles on my head & eating computers on stage during metal bands sets. I started to wonder why I hadn’t started a freak show of my own so I did. I am the Ring Leader of the troop, Slim FadEy.
CMB: How did you come in contact with The Amazing Boobzilla?
LR: I came in contact with Boobzilla when I saw she was touring the country. I had messaged her to find out when she was coming through Denver. She responded with telling me that she did not have one booked & asked if I could book a show with both our troops for a show. I was very excited to do a show with her troop.
CMB: What can people expect at the show, and where are tickets available?
LR: At this crazy Stunt Show to the Death you will see professional sideshow artists battling stunt for stunt to prove who is the most hardcore freak! Boobzilla & Dave the Goliath of the Oh No Variety Show! against Slim FadEy & Kasja of the Faded Freakshow. There will be a steel swallowing contest, an animal trap dare, blockhead challenge, piercing trial, body part weighting lifting tournament & light bulb eating match. During the night there will be burlesque & a dj to entertain you as well.
CMB: What else is coming up for you?
LR: We will be performing at a haunt in October for the Colorado Fear Fest with dark carnival midway provided by Circus of Fear 3D. Providing a unique line-less haunt attraction like none other! On the midway there will be carnival games, food & a stage with a FREE sideshows & performances going on while you wait to go through the haunt.
