$6 Presale (+$5 if under 21), $8 Day Of Show (+$5 if under 21)

Afrolicious has established itself as both one of the most legendary weekly parties in San Francisco, and of the top live/electronic bands on the scene. Started as a weekly dance party featuring DJ’s and brothers Pleasuremaker and Señor Oz alongside percussionists, MC’s and horn players, and an amazing crowd from day one. Over the years it has evolved as founding DJ/Producer Pleausremaker (Joe McGuire) alongside brother Señor Oz (Oz McGuire) hooked up with some of the most exciting personalities in the Bay Area music scene and started writing original music under the alias Afrolicious. Around 2010 the live Pleasuremaker band started including some of this new ‘Afrolicious’ material and added more of the percussionists and vocalists from the weekly party to form what is now the Afrolicious band. Between their weekly party and sound system shows that involve the brothers DJing alongside live percussion, they also have a 8-12 piece live band that emphasizes the organic elements, instrumentation, and energy of a live ensemble combined with club heavy beats and textures the weekly party has come to be known for.
Afrolicious band and sound system have performed at such legendary venues as Red Rocks, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Electric Forest Festival, Snow Globe, Burningman, Sea of Dreams, The Independent, Great American Music Hall, Elbo Room in San Francsico (5 plus years weekly residency), Cielo, Nublu, Bembe, Zanzibar, Silent Frisco
Afrolicious has played alongside such artists as:

$10 Presale (+$5 if under 21), $12 Day Of Show (+$5 if under 21)
Doors @ 8, Showtime @ 10
Rubblebucket has spent the last five years building a reputation as a band that blurs lines. The
Brooklyn, NY by way of Boston and Vermont seven-piece has evolved into something that is
“utterly post-genre—horns, synth, guitars, harmonies—a smile-inducing point on the tangent
that connects Björk and Broken Social Scene”, which is to say that you never know what you’ll
see or hear next.
Over the past year the band has taken a break of sorts (the only way Rubblebucket knows how),
playing only a few festivals and one-off appearances, while writing and recording new material
that will come in the form of a new EP, that also serves as a teaser to an album to come in 2014.

Formed in the late 1990s in Los Angeles, Orgone remains dedicated to creating heavy, raw, adrenaline-fueled funk and sweat-dripping soul. With a core rhythm section of close friends and self-taught musicians steeped in the DJ culture of L.A., Orgone has spent the last decade expanding their roster and evolving a sound that simultaneously recognizes its roots in old school respect and pulsates with the force of the new millennium. While becoming a staple on the festival circuit in the early 2000s, Orgone has gained a reputation among fellow artists for being one of the baddest go-to backing bands on the planet.

Jeremy currently resides in Brooklyn, where he spends his time working on music in his bedroom, often leaving it to play DJ sets. Although Jeremy works on the recordings alone and has not done many live performances, the Chrome Sparks live realization has had many different incarnations, ranging from a one man show to an eight piece band. The Beans style can be described as natural and all encompassing, encapsulating the diverse interests of each musician in the band and today’s music lovers into one package. The Magic Beans are well known for going between folk, funk, rock and electronica in a single composition, original setlists each night, and with the added element of improvisation, there is always something special that can happen at every show. The group uses no pre-recorded tracks or samples in favor of a more traditional approach to music; original songwriting, diverse instrumentation, and continually pushing the musical envelope are what set the Magic Beans apart. November 9Adrian Vigil’s “A Road To Recovery” w/ Shatterproof, The Skyline Rise & more (Rock)

$10 (+$5 if under 21)

“A Road to Recovery”
Valentine’s Day 2013 I exploded.
One of the last memories I have was arguing with a close friend in Greeley. Eight days later I regained conscious in Denver at Denver Health Hospital. My cousin was sitting at my side, her eyes blood shot from tears. She explained (as I later learned for the umpteenth time) that I was in an explosion. I was in a coma for 7 days. An acetylene tank I had in the trunk of my father’s car had a leak. When I went to open the trunk the gas was ignited. Windows were blown out of homes in the neighborhood. Pieces of the vehicle were found blocks away. The blast was heard for miles. The very friend I was arguing with and a neighbor ran to my rescue, risking their own lives. They carried my body away from the burning vehicle. I was alive.
Over the next few days I learned of the extensive injuries I sustained. Most were caused by shrapnel, glass and metal. I lost my left eye. Doctors were able to save my right eye with surgery. To this day there is glass remaining in my “good eye”. My left leg was mangled. Somehow the doctors were able to straighten it out and place a metal rod with screws to straighten my leg out. My thumb and index finger on my right hand were fractured. Six pins were inserted to immobilize my hand which was placed in a cast. My body was riddled with glass and metal, mainly on my head and face.
A few days after seeing my cousin I was given a mirror to see my face. It was early morning. The friend who saved my life was by my side. I hesitated. I am strong. Not prideful. Never was a ten in society’s eyes, so I was ready to see what I now looked like. I stared in horror. Tears streamed down this face in the mirror. Who was this man, this disfigured being? Within 3 months of Valentine’s Day I remember looking in the mirror no more than a few times. I was a different man.
Six months later I am on A Road to Recovery. I was approached by a longtime friend who happens to be a musician. “Adrian I learned of the explosion. I want to help you out”. The seed was planted. Humanity, Good will, Love and Hope was the fertilizer. Since then a group of individuals have joined together in the name of Good Will and Humanity. This group is helping me create an event to help raise money to help with the mounting bills and to help me get back on my feet. I am a licensed Journeyman Plumber in Colorado and spent the majority of my career in the commercial field, however due to the freak explosion I have been unable to work. I am currently undergoing countless appointments and therapy to get close to 100% again. We are hoping we can raise some money to help achieve this.
I am not looking for a hand out. I would however appreciate a hand up. It has taken much humility to accept and ask for help. I want to express what my goal is for this event: Love and Life. I am appreciative of all money raised. But most of all I think this event will prove to be tremendously dynamic. It will prove to be an example of the human spirit; the good will of man, helping out a neighbor and a celebration of life.
Thank you for your time, and for considering this opportunity to help another member on The Road to Recovery.

November 21The Raw and Rugged Tour: R.A the Rugged Man & Potluck w/ special guests Whitney Peyton & Black Pegasus (Hip Hop)

$15 Presale (+$5 if under 21), $20 Day Of Show (+$5 if under 21)

Few artists are ever as controversial as they are influential. New York legend R.A. The Rugged Man has lived up to this billing by combining the authenticity of his undeniably rugged life with lyrical skills feared by nearly all of his hip hop peers. Originally from a broken home in Long Island’s Suffolk County, R.A. was raised by a Vietnam veteran/mental patient father whose exposure to Agent Orange left his brother Maxx physically and visually impaired and his sister Dee Ann unable to walk or speak. Finding refuge in hip-hop, R.A. began his whirlwind rap career at the age of 12. His immediate growth as an artist and constantly rising profile soon caught the attention of the major labels, and R.A. found himself at the center of a nine label bidding war. While he eventually signed with Jive, his vile behavior proved too much for the label to handle as they left his career to die without an album in stores to his name. To make matters worse, the rapper’s stage shows had become so out of control that he was banned from performing in the United States.

December 14Kyle Hollingsworth Band with The Grant Farm (Bluegrass Jam)

$15 Presale (+$5 if under 21), $17 Day Of Show (+$5 if under 21)

Thirty years ago, Kyle Hollingsworth set out on a career in music. Since then, with a wealth of desire and an abundance of ability, Hollingsworth has established himself as a formidable and versatile music talent, with the ability to contribute, collaborate, compose, and communicate on a number of levels and within a vast spectrum of musical environments. Today, as a member of acclaimed jam masters The String Cheese Incident, Hollingsworth is revered by both peers and fans for his ability to write and perform in a mosaic of styles, from rock to classical, ragtime to bebop. Playing in SCI has allowed him unrestricted access to the world of music, and has bestowed on him the kind of fearlessness a composer needs to flirt with such disparate genres. Those who’ve seen SCI know that they can jerk from funk to bluegrass on a chord change. “In the jam world, where there are no set ways of doing things, we’re not afraid to move in and out of genres,” he says, “and because of that I’ve learned to be creative, not only onstage but in the studio. I can get on board with something pretty quickly. You have to.”
His recent release, titled The There’s Now, finds the musician coming in to his own. With solid song material and a slamming new band, Kyle is making his mark in the new, always-evolving music scene. Then There’s Now delivers a blend of vocal and instrumental tunes and seamlessly displays his growth as a musician and as a songwriter.
