Indie Group Edison Adds New Member Over Course of Successful Fall Tour
November 17, 2014. Denver’s home to indie darlings like The Lumineers, Nathaniel Rateliff, Gregory Alan
Isakov, Tennis, and Paperbird, to name a few. The city has become a melting pot of musicians from far and wide
who spend time to build community and nurture the creative force that keeps spilling out from the mountains. The
latest band creating buzz in the Mile High City is, Edison, an indie folk-pop trio with haunting lyrics and a
captivating live performance. The band spent November on the road and came home to Colorado to announce
the addition of third member, Chris Cash, and an upcoming EP “Ghosts”, due out February 2015.
BAND BACKGROUND / NEW MEMBER
Edison began as a duo comprised of Sarah Slaton and Dustin Morris. The pair each had solo careers until
they joined forces after sharing a bill on tour to South by Southwest in 2013. The duo played their first
show as “Edison” in the summer of 2014 and headed out on tour across the Midwest/South this November.
A mutual friend of the band, Chris Cash, joined the tour as a solo support act. Coloradans may have seen
Cash with his previous project, Whiskey King Coalition. Cash has also released an album through his solo
project (Routine or Adventure EP). The three meshed well on the road and within a few tour stops Cash
was jumping on stage with Edison. He’s now a full-fledged member of the band bringing bass, keys, and
additional vocals. With the final lineup secured the band is heading into the studio to finish their debut EP,
Ghosts, due out February 2015.
About Edison
Thomas Edison’s final words were, “it’s beautiful over there”. I’m not sure where there is, but I believe it’s
somewhere and I hope it’s beautiful. Edison is an Indie-Folk/Pop duo out of Denver, CO. The band released
