INTERNATIONAL JAZZ AWARD WINNER CHRISTINA JACCARD TO PERFORM LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN COLORADO AT THE RIVIERA
DENVER, Colo. (May 19, 2015) – The Riviera at The Breakers Resort will present Swiss jazz performer Christina Jaccard on May 21 at the Riviera’s Thursday Night Live.
Christina Jaccard has performed on stage for almost 27 years and is renowned in Europe for her interpretation of blues classics. In 2012, she won the Swiss Jazz Award at the International Jazz Festival held in Ascona, Switzerland.
In a recent interview with 303 Magazine, Jaccard discussed her upcoming performance: “As a musician you have to open your heart to the moment, to the musicians you’re playing with, and open your arms to what’s there. I’m very much looking forward to this. It feels like a privilege to me to perform as a ‘stranger,’ but also like a musical virgin in Denver.”
Jaccard will be joined onstage by her longtime drummer, Andreas Schmid, (currently the house drummer for David Booker’s Monday Night Blues Jam at El Chapultepec) and members of Bluestonemojo: Prof. Moses on the keyboard (whom is known around the city for his New Orleans influenced style of play) and Bobby C. on the bass guitar.
The event is free and open to the public, starting at 7 p.m. The Riviera will extend happy hour until 11 p.m.
