MEDIC Seek to Land Grammy’s Gig-of-a-Lifetime Contest
Medic, a local band from Castle Rock, CO, is representing Colorado as the only band selected from the state as a finalist in this year’s Grammy’s Gig-of-a-Lifetime! Of thousands of submissions, judges Fall Out Boy, Austin Mahone, and Emeli Sandé selected Medic and 39 other bands nationwide to compete for the grand prize — the winning band will be flown to Los Angeles, CA to play at Club Nokia during Grammy Weekend.
Medic needs Colorado’s help — voting is open and they need the greatest number of votes by January 10th to win. “In the midst of the trials that we go through these days, I think we are just tired of the same old,” says Aaron, lead singer of Medic. “Anyone can make art these days. It’s so accessible to make and promote and yet most of it is so negative. It was wearing on us. Medic is about something new, we are about creating a community of thinkers, dreamers and believers that aim for something positive. This world will continue to fall apart if we keep talking about how it’s falling apart. But what if we dare to be the people to figure out ways to put things back together? That’s our platform. That maybe our music can be a part of someone’s healing process and spread from there,” says Aaron.
With an overwhelming desire to spread hope and life to others, Medic strives to make music with excellence and intentionality. They have been featured on Mainstage at Lifelight Music Festival in South Dakota and made their first Hometown for the Holidays appearance in 2012. Help Medic get to the Grammy’s! Voting is open on http://gig.cbs.com/#/ until January 10th and voters get 50 votes a day. Please spread the word. For more information on Medic-
