Pigeons Playing Ping Pong to Make Colorado Debut April 3-7

Baltimore, Maryland’s Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are debuting in Colorado April 3-7. Despite being from the East Coast, their funky rock hybrid is the perfect sound for the Colorado hills. Colorado Music Buzz caught up with PPPP’s Greg Ormont.
CMB: Give me a quick background on the band.
PPPP: Pigeons Playing Ping Pong is a high-energy psychedelic funk band from Baltimore, MD. Starting in December 2007, the funky foursome has been touring relentlessly since three of the four members graduated from the University of Maryland in 2010. Hitting festivals in the summer and touring the East Coast and Mid-West during the year, their epic stage presence, infectious dance grooves and catchy vocals have cultivated a “flock” of loyal fans that they refuse to disappoint. The group signed with Hoplite Booking Agency in December 2012 and have huge plans for 2013. Every show is a party, and they are so pumped to spread the love to Colorado and its surrounding states.
CMB: What are you expecting from or what have you heard about Colorado?
PPPP: A lot of our friends visited Colorado this year and never came back. Everyone talks the world of Colorado and we are too excited to experience the scene for ourselves. We have a lot of supporters out there, and everyone tells us that the crowds are going to eat us up. We’re so excited to bring our style of high-energy psychedelic funk to Colorado. I have a really good feeling about this run.

MARCH 20TH, 2013 – Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will debut their original funky style in multiple Mid-West cities starting on March 28th at Woodland’s Tavern in Columbus, OH and including a five-night run in Colorado (see full list of dates below). Known for their high-energy live shows, catchy vocals, infectious improvisational jams and quirky stage personas, these four birds are making themselves known in the jam scene as a band that puts the “fun” in “funk.”
