Colorado Music Buzz kicked off a week long give-away of Go Radio’s new record Close The Distance on Music Buzz LIVE Radio’s Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon broadcasts. The band has seen major success since the release of their previous record Lucky Street. The band will be on the road throughout the fall and early winter on the “Go To Hell” Tour and front man Jason Lancaster spoke briefly with CMB about the new record and subsequent time on the road. For your chance to win a copy of their new album, tune in to MileHighUnderground.com Saturday, Oct.27 at 3 pm and Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 pm.
CMB: Did you approach the songwriting differently on this record, knowing that it had to follow the success of the last one?
JL: We went into this record knowing we had to do something that would not only change others, but showcase the changes that we’d all been through in the last year. This year has been such a giant year for not only GoRadio together, but all of us separately as well. We all grew up so much, some of us by choice and some by need, but we all did.
CMB: How did you guys get noticed out of Tallahassee?
JL: We honestly had a really hard time in Tallahassee. We spent our early years trying to create a buzz in a scene that was really hard on us. Come to think of it, that was most of America. The only way we got anywhere in this business was to dig trenches and settle in with every scene we could get into. Our goal was to get into someones head and stay there. We always wanted to let people know what we were about, and make our mark on every ear we reached.
CMB: What can we expect on this upcoming tour? Anything crazy going on? When can we expect to see you guys back in Denver?
JL: We’re always stoked to do headliners, and as for crazy stuff on it we’re not sure what we’re going to do yet. We just know that we’re going to give it everything we’ve got just like we’ve always done. We love Denver, and we can’t wait to get back out there. It’s such an amazing place!
