Four-piece alt/rock band, Take to the Oars, featuring Ryan Gombeski (vocals), Mikey Trujillo (guitar), Chris Weaver (drums), and JP Manza (bass), have been making quite a name for themselves in Colorado over the last year. And this month, these Denver sweethearts are adding even more charm to their resume by way of a music video.
Originally released on their debut album, American Volume, Take to the Oars is breathing new life into their song “Bar Talk.” The video, which was filmed by Blurred Pictures at the historic Ogden Theatre, is the first video to ever be filmed at that location.
TTTO, along with Sarah Slaton (Vinefield Agency), collaborated with Blurred Pictures and the Ogden Theatre to create a visual representation of “Bar Talk.” The simply stated mix of backlit shots and live shots, provides a solid backdrop to the song, which builds an innate anticipation, and is liberated by the powerful chorus.
After the boys return from tour, including a stop at SXSW for the 2nd Annual Illegal Pete’s Starving Artist Showcase, they will release the video to a sold-out venue at the Gothic Theatre on March 23. Look for it to be posted on ColoradoMusicBuzz.com on March 24, and for more information, check out:
