The Adicts-All the Young Droogs

Droogs are still alive and well, and the UK’s the Adicts are living proof. Sept. 11 marked the release of the 35-year old band’s tenth studio album, All the Young Droogs. The record kicks up with “Battlefield W1,” an upbeat number showcasing the band’s signature early punk sound.
The record is very anthemic, relying on catchy vocals on top of captivating, if almost poppy at times, punk rock beats to keep the listener’s attention. Musically, they aren’t really pushing any boundaries, but their feel-good sound makes for an appealing record. Track 5, entitled “Stop The World (I Wanna Get Off)” stood out the most, featuring nice lead guitar throughout and engaging gang vocals.
Perhaps the best thing about All the Young Droogs is that it is living proof that a punk rock band can remain so alive and relevant over the course of a career spanning nearly four decades.
