The Script

I have followed the Script ever since they came out with their self-titled CD in 2008, and from that moment on I have had nothing but respect and love for them. When I saw them at the Ogden Theater, it was the first time I had the opportunity to see them since they made a name for themselves, and I didn’t know what to expect. I was ecstatic to discover that their energy on stage, and the presence that front man Danny O’Donoghue brought was more than I could have hoped for. The Script brought the excitement and the passion that I don’t normally get to experience when I go to a live show, and even though I gush about every single one of my favorite bands, I have to say that the concert was definitely pushed to one of my top five to see.

Most bands that I have seen in the past are able to get the crowd pumping and bring that “certain something” that moves the crowd to mosh, to sway, or to scream the words to the song at the top of their lungs. The Script left me speechless and breathless because not only did they bring energy to the crowd, but also their message and their passion really inspired me. Their experiences, whether they are bad or good, resonate in their songs. The night was concluded with a wonderful encore including songs from their first album, as well as their new album, 3.

“Break Even,” “Six Degrees of Separation,” and “Together We Cry” were just a few of the songs they performed that night, and each and every one was sung with devotion and emotion. The Script, and their catchy, meaningful songs brought tears to my eyes and made me an even bigger fan than before.
