Umphrey’s Mondays Finds New Home at The 1up – Colfax
DENVER, CO (May 12, 2014) – The 1up – Colfax has a special relationship with Umphrey’s McGee. In December, the arcade/bar/music venue played host to an intimate flood relief benefit show with the Chicago-based jam band. Starting on May 19, the venue will hold Umphrey’s Mondays, a monthly gathering of the band’s fans centered around screening recent and classic Umphrey’s McGee shows.
This month’s screening is from 12/28/13 at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium. The recently released show was recorded and produced by Tourgigs and can be purchased at www.tourgigs.com. This free event starts at 7:30 p.m. and is open to everyone 18 and older.
Throughout the evening will be multiple raffles with prizes that include tickets to theJuly 5 Umphrey’s McGee show at Red Rocks Amphitheater, free rides to the July 5show on the J2G Live party bus, tickets to Thievery Corporation at Red Rooks Amphitheater on June 13, tickets to Def Leppard/KISS at the Pepsi Center on June 25 courtesy of Live Nation, tickets for upcoming shows at The 1up – Colfax, band merchandise and more. The first Umphrey’s Monday was held in 2011, the brainchild of superfan Abby Radbill. What started as a handful of fans assembling to celebrate the music that they love has grown to a monthly series with nearly 200 Umphreaks in attendance. The 1up – Colfax, located at 717 E Colfax Avenue, is a more than 500 person music venue that offers a club style atmosphere as well as a classic arcade with 50 arcade games and 19 pinball machines.
