The new EP from Colorado Springs rockers We Are Not A Glum Lot sounds like the guys have spent their share of time on Denver’s south Broadway strip. A melodic brand of indie-influenced shoegaze music, the band utilizes an almost trippy element to separate their music from the masses of indie rock that dominate the front range music scene.

Echoes and well-placed, multi-toned lead guitar riffs provide the musical backdrop, meshed with front  man Sam Erickson’s spaced-out vocals make for an ambient record that is perfect for a slow cruise down the traffic-laden streets of the big city. The music is upbeat but doesn’t beg for an overreaction. Instead, it holds attention with undeniably catchy melodies and solid guitar work. We Are Not A Glum Lot has given Colorado another strong branch of indie rock.
